Oh hello, I'm Brian! 👋

I believe in service to our communities. I have learned that I get the most energy and satisfaction from helping others. Over the last decade I have volunteered a significant amount of time and energy to volunteering and I have loved it!

Kilimanjaro

2023

I am getting ready for an adventure that I am so excited about!! On July 14th, I'll be starting my journey from Dallas to Tanzania, all set to conquer the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.

Before I start the schedule I will spend a couple days on a very low key 2-Day Safari to Tarangire Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Visiting Tarangire and seeing the African top 5.

The two national parks are gifted by nature each having over 2,000 animals. Tarangire is famous for its largest herds of Elephant not only in Tanzania but Africa at as a whole.

Project Goma

2018

Goma is the capital city of North Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located on the northern shore of Lake Kivu, next to the Rwandan city of Gisenyi.

The lake and the two cities are in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift system. Goma lies only 13 to 18 km due south of the crater of the active Nyiragongo Volcano. The recent history of Goma has been dominated by the volcano and the Rwandan Genocide of 1994, which in turn fuelled the First and Second Congo Wars.

 Project Uganda

2015

I was part of a group of 10 continuously rotating in-country volunteers to help the Ugandan Batwa people formerly of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park look beyond today for a better quality of life through developing a sustainable and non-encroaching agrarian infrastructure including micro farms.

The local community where I worked is trying to build pride in the protection of Bwindi by benefitting from its conservation through income, quality education, improved agricultural practices and in general, promoting better and more enjoyable ways of life.

 Project South Africa

2014

Staying in Noordhook with mission to help locals in temporary housing situations.

Temporary housing settlements make up a large portion of the poor population in South Africa and are lacking in the basic necessities of health care, education, clean water, electricity and many other things we take for granted.
