This is the program I started with the group in Africa by bringing them 15 donated cameras and a 650 Watt Solar Power System. The power system allows them to have a way to have lights, have a working recording studio and a teaching space for photography. This group pulled this business plan together and I was really inspired by the enthusiasm and reach!

BRIEF Project description VISA TO AFRICA

The project aims to bring together young people from the African continent aged 10 to 35 in a reunion and of photography and on stage through a series of training workshops, introduction to the professional photographer for a duration of one week per training in each city.

After the formation in a city, the young initiates of each participating city will be called through the lens of the camera, to look at their cities from a new angle and expose a new vision of urban life for 7 days urban daily. Then about a series of 50 photos will be selected for a production of a photo book and an outdoor exhibition in each city, under an original system designed especially for the occasion. The project will also include workshops (master’s classes), conferences to promote open discussions and support the work of promising young photographers.

Objectives is: Set up a Big Data Photo of the continent away from negative images produced by humanitarian organizations and others;

Much more than just “clichés”, presenting a different way of understanding the urban space and its peculiarities thanks to the achievements and exhibitions of photographs;

Give another look at photography, not just as a means of entertainment, but as a tool; towards a fight for behavioral change for positive and inclusive development;

Initiate a reflection on the dynamics of the continent’s society and culture, share the creativity of strollers with a diverse audience, and encourage the dissemination of knowledge, culture and history by strolling.

Through photography, elevate the creative thinking of the continent’s young people on the successes and failures of development actions based on continental integration and culture, putting in truth the causes or the catalytic factors, considering the links between the politics, culture, integration, entrepreneurship and development when carrying out their works. And then produce constructive and revealing works of consciousness, peace, socio-economic development, and truth in the hearts and minds of the public.

BREF Description du projet VISA TO AFRCA

Le projet vise à  mettre en retrouvaille et en scène de jeunes du continent Africain âgés de 10 à 35 ans par une série d’ateliersde formation, d’initiation à la photographe professionnel pendant une durée d’une semaine par formation dans chaque ville.

Après la formation dans une ville, les jeunes initiés de chaque cité participante seront appelé à travers l’objectif de l’appareil photo, à regarder leurs villes sous un angle nouveau et exposer une nouvelle vision de la vie urbaine pendant 7 jours dans la réalité urbaine quotidienne. Puis environ une série de 50 photos seront sélectionnés pour une production d’un livre photo et une  exposition en plein air dans chaque ville, sous un système original conçu spécialement pour l’occasion. Le projet intégrera aussi à part des ateliers (masters classes), des conférences pour promouvoir les discussions ouvertes et soutenir le travail de jeunes photographes prometteurs.

Objectifs est de:

Mettre en place un Big Data Photo du continent loin des images négatives produites par des organisations humanitaire et autres ;

Bien plus que par de simples « clichés », présenter une manière différente de comprendre l’espace urbain et ses particularités grâce à des réalisations et expositions de photographies ;

Redonner un autre aperçu de la photographie, non pas  comme un simple moyen de divertissement tout court, mais surtout comme un outil; vers une lutte pour le changement du comportement pour un développement positif et inclusif ;

Initier une réflexion sur la dynamique de la société et de la culture du continent, de partager la créativité des flâneurs avec un public varié, et d’encourager la diffusion des connaissances, de la culture et de l’histoire par la flânerie.

Par la photographie, élever la réflexion de créativité des jeunes du continent sur les succès et échecs des actions de développement basées sur l’intégration continentale et la culture, en mettant en vérité les causes ou les facteurs catalytiques, en tenant compte des liens entre la politique, la culture, l’intégration, l’entreprenariat et le développement lors de la réalisation de leurs œuvres. Et a suite produire des œuvres constructrices et révélatrices de la conscience, la paix, le développement socio-économique, et la vérité dans les cœurs et esprits du public.
