I took my passport photos last week for my Visa application. It costs $100.00 for a 3 month Visa to visit East Africa. It lets you travel between Rwanda, Uganda Kenya. I filled out the online application and Mail everything in tomorrow. You mail it express mail and include and return envelope express mail and get it all done in 3 or 4 days! I should have done it sooner.

I had all of my shots a few weeks ago and start my Malaria pills on New Year’s Day. The shots are the normal ones with Typhoid, tetanus etc. unexpectedly I need a yellow fever vaccination and will get that Monday. If if was flying direct from the USA I wouldn’t need it because it’s not prevalent here or there in Uganda. But since my plane flies from USA to UK and then stops in Uganda and then finally lands in Rwanda and we drive back to Uganda I need proof of vaccination. Flying in that way means my drive to our volunteer site is 3 hours instead of 10 hours so it’s smarter from a safety and travel time perspective but the vaccine is $150.00!!
