Good Morning world!
Today we are off the the protected forest to dig up native seedlings to transplant to the areas inside Bwindi that have been deforested and also to plant some outside the forest to start having the Batwa and others have some forest back. Our organization had to sign an agreement with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to be able to do this and they escort us in and out along with an expert marksman to protect us from forest elephants that are aggressive which is unlike most elephants. They believe it’s because these elephants have learned to fear people.
After we get the seedlings we take them back to our nursery and plant them in grow sacks and give them time to become strong before we put them in their permanent location.
That’s all for now. Have a great day!
Thanks, B
